Crying From Hell

Time passes me quickly;
I let it slip by while I hope;
It laughs as it’s squandered.

I’m not humble enough
To be grateful for life so
I ponder the hour of death.

I wonder further
Where will I stand
At the final judgment?

I hope in God’s mercy
Because I read it in
The lives of Saints.

Perhaps I’ve even
Seen living examples;
God knows.

They stand now amongst
The great cloud of witnesses
Helping me to run this race.

This scorching sun is like
Sprinkled dew on the
Three righteous youths.

God stand by me also;
If you place me in Hades
Turn not from me forever.

For as one has said:
Better to be in Hell with God
Than in Heaven without Him.

God heal my double mindedness;
This middle ground He hates,
But where I am comfortable.

I chant with the prayers of
Saints to join my heart
With the Holy Spirit.

With no tears or feeling:
Grant me, O Lord,
Repentance before the end.
