Stuck Waiting

We met at the start of winter, and you were as far away as Spring. I’m stuck waiting on a promise that perhaps Summer can fulfill.

Every skyline is the same without you. I haven’t yet lived because you’ve never kissed my lips. Every sunrise is merely a bright light. It only hurts my eyes and marks another day you aren’t here. Sunsets are just as dull, but worse because they mark another night that passes without you.

How many tokens add up to enough weight to feel the promise of my love? At least until my presence can fill that space in your heart which I hope time does not take away from me.
